JATS XML production is about representing scholarly content once, in a structured form, so it can be published in multiple formats. GreyMind is developing this capability and states its maturity honestly.
WHAT THIS SERVICE IS
What JATS is, and why it matters.
JATS (Journal Article Tag Suite) is a standard XML vocabulary for describing scholarly journal articles. A single JATS document can drive PDF, HTML and machine-readable outputs.
When an article is represented in JATS, its structure — front matter, body, figures, tables, references and back matter — is explicit and machine-readable. That structure supports multi-format publishing and improves compatibility with preservation and indexing systems.
GreyMind is developing this capability. It is not yet a production-scale, generally available service, and it does not currently claim automatic conversion of every manuscript to perfect JATS.

The visual above is a conceptual target, not a released product. Structured content — expressed as PDF, HTML or JATS XML — is the goal; the capability to produce it reliably at production scale is still being developed.
Maturity, stated accurately
JATS XML production is in development. GreyMind does not claim that every DOCX automatically converts to perfect JATS, and does not claim production-scale availability. Organizations with a structured-publishing requirement are welcome to discuss it, with the understanding that the capability is still maturing.
