Compile and inspect scholarly LaTeX projects using a full server-side typesetting environment.
Full LaTeX processing requires a large typesetting environment — document classes, fonts, bibliography tools and document classes — that is not practical to run entirely inside a browser. A complete installation can be several gigabytes.
This service is not yet publicly available. LaTeX compilation executes native typesetting software on our server, so it is only enabled once strong isolation can be demonstrated.
Why this tool is not publicly enabled.
Compiling untrusted LaTeX is native server execution. The current environment can run LaTeX with shell escape disabled, resource limits, timeouts and a dedicated non-privileged account — but it does not yet provide the strong operating-system sandbox required to safely accept arbitrary public LaTeX projects.
We do not weaken the host security policy to make this appear ready. The tool remains visibly restricted until adequate isolation is available.
